Lake Monticello
The actual lake within the Lake Monticello community has much to offer to residents. Thanks to its massive size, this 350-acre manmade lake features 5 beaches as well as a marina with a dock, a concrete launching pad and a gas pump. Therefore, residents are able to easily enjoy a wide variety of water-based recreational activities. Some of the more popular activities enjoyed on Lake Monticello include:
- Boating
- Canoeing
- Fishing
- Kayaking
- Rowing
- Swimming
- Tubing
- Water skiing
Thanks to the 5 beaches located throughout the community, residents can also enjoy sunbathing or simply sitting on sands and watching all of the activity around them.
Lake Monticello Golf Course
The 18-hole semi-private Lake Monticello Golf Course provides residents with 6,925 acres of championship play. Designed by Buddy Loving to coincide with the area?s beautiful rolling landscape, the attractive course is open throughout the entire year. Some of the amenities offered at the golf course include:
- Championship men?s, seniors? and ladies? tees
- State-of-the-art electric golf cars, though walking is permitted
- Tees and fairways consisting primarily of Bermuda grass
- A Pro Shop featuring a retail shop, a driving range, a practice green and a bunker
- The Eagles Nest snack bar located inside the Pro Shop
- Group and individual golf lessons available
- Dress codes are enforced
Lake Monticello residents can obtain annual greens and cart plans to the golf course if they like.
Recreational Facilities
Residents of the Lake Monticello community enjoy access to a variety of different recreational facilities. These include:
- Lake Monticello Tennis Courts ? 4 hard-surfaced tennis courts are located near the main gate and Clubhouse, while 2 additional courts can be found at Lafayette Park.
- Lake Monticello Pool ? located near the Clubhouse and the main beach, the Lake Monticello Pool features several swimming lanes, a deep end with a jumping board, a baby pool and a poolside snack bar. The pool is open Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day weekend, weather permitting.
- Basketball courts located at the Clubhouse
- Playground and picnic facilities ? one is located near the Clubhouse, one is at Lafayette Park and another is at the Bunker Ball Field
- Bunker Ball Field ? a multi-purpose field that can be used for baseball, softball and soccer games
- Horseshoes ? two horseshoe courts are located next to the Clubhouse tennis courts
- The Tufton Fishing Pond
